KS1 Florence Nightingale Day

As part of our Autumn Term Topic “Explore, Dream Discover – Who Inspires Us?” we are going to be learning about Florence Nightingale, her life and how she became a pioneer in modern medicine. We have invited Real History Alive to visit Key Stage 1 on Thursday 26th September to hold a workshop with the children.

The children will take part in a practical workshop which will include the children being taken back in time to Scutari Hospital. They will use role play to learn about what life was like for the soldiers and nurses in the hospital and also take part in an interactive Victorian artefact museum with Sidney Herbert (the Victorian Minister of War and good friend of Florence Nightingale).
