On Wednesday 27th of September, all of St James Academy, including the staff, celebrated National Fitness Day alongside 10,000 schools in the country.
National Fitness Day encourages the Nation to celebrate the fun of fitness and physical activity. It was a great opportunity to highlight the role physical activity plays in our lives and helped teach the children the importance of leading a healthy and active lifestyle.
During the day each class completed at least 10 minutes of physical activity including Foundation, who did the 1 mile challenge and Key Stage 2 being put through their paces by completing the Lean in 15 Joe Wicks work out. The teachers even went for a run at lunchtime!
We had lots of energetic and enthusiastic children and staff, who put in 100% effort, had lots of fun and kept fit at the same time.
Well done all!
