Since September 2017, we have undertaken a full review of our curriculum (this formed a key objective on our 2017/2018 and 2018/2019 development plans). With the sole aim of re-imaging our curriculum fit for our vision in our community. To do this we first consulted all stakeholders to gather their views. During this time the academy appointed two Development Plan Leaders for 2017/2018 (Mrs Joyce & Miss Purves) to lead upon the final stages of the consultation and then undertake the final review and re-design. Mrs Clarke has been appointed as Curriculum Manager (September 2018) to drive this onto stage two - namely the embedding of spirituality within our curriculum.
This new all-inclusive curriculum is entitled 'The Circle of Life' and it carries our 'Ready for the Future' vision. It captures everything we do under one banner within a 'big social or moral questions' for each area of school, each term - it places the idea of 'starting with why' at the heart of our actions and studies. It brings the National Curriculum under one of four key areas and places oracy and questioning at the heart of our work. Stage two is ongoing during 2018/2019 and we are undertaking Growth Mindset training with the aim of applying this approach to our curriculum to enhance it further.
Below you will find the final whole school overview documents. A life size version appears in our school main entrance alongside our 'Welcome to the Academy' film.
