Crigglestone St James
CE Primary Academy

On this page, you will find the match reports from our Year 5 and 6 netball team who have the opportunity to participate in a range of fixtures within our school pyramid. Our aim is for the children to learn and participate in a competitive team so that they can make and sustain changes which will improve their health throughout their life so that they are ready for the future.

Match Report 1

On Thursday 27th September, St James had their first match of the league against Sandal Magna at home. The weather was fantastic and the children were enthusiastic, which made for a positive start to the afternoon. It continued to get better, as the game started and everyone from both schools played fairly, were considerate to others and played some great netball.

All of the children from St James played as a team, and as a result, came away with a victory. The final score was 15 – 0 to St James!

Both schools put in 100% effort, cheered for all the children and showed fantastic sportsmanship – myself and Mrs Woodward couldn’t be prouder of these children.

The team fully enjoyed their afternoon and I would like to thank all of our parents and staff, who supported us during the match! Thank you.

Match Report 2

On Thursday 11th November, St James had their second match of the league against Sandal Castle Primary school at home. Once again, our children were in high spirits and ready for the match.

As soon as the match started, our teamwork was evident as St James took the lead. As the match progressed, things became very interesting due to some fantastic plays from Sandal. With the last 6 minutes to play, Sandal had managed to fight back and close the gap.

Through sheer determination and some fantastic plays from St James, the team managed to score. The final result was 10 - 6 to St James!

Another win for St James and absolutely incredible sportsmanship shown from all the children from both schools. Both Mrs Woodward and I are so proud of the children’s teamwork, support for one another and their attitudes. Once again, they have made St James proud.

Thank you to all the parents and staff, who supported us during the match, the atmosphere was fantastic!
