School Council

The council consists of elected members from each year group in school. Our year 4, 5 and 6 children have two members each, whilst other year groups have one representative. Children are able to stand for election once they achieve 'Prefect' status. This is an important role model position so attaining this 'Prefect' status first of all is vital.

The council meets approximately every two weeks with Mrs Lewis. The formal meetings are led by the chair of the council, who is elected at the first meeting.

The aim is to have one major project to lead upon at any time.

THE CURRENT PROJECT IS: THE NEW 'WIZARD OF OZ' SCHOOL LIBRARY

The council was responsible for giving the newly planned library a theme and design. This was then followed by our leadership team and put into place during Spring Term 2016. The council will shortly be identifying a range of books that each year group would like to see in there. The library leaders will then work from this list as we fill the shelves in the coming weeks. Take a look at our 'ACADEMY DEVELOPMENT PLAN PROJECTS 15-16' page to see more. Provisional opening date is April 2016.
