St James CE Primary Academy caters for boys and girls between the ages of 5 and 11. The acadmey does not have a nursery but its catchment area is served by Crigglestone Nursery School which is situated on High Street, Crigglestone. Close links are maintained with the Nursery School but attendance at the Nursery does not ensure automatic admittance to St James CE Primary Academy.
Starting at our Academy
The Local Authority has an admissions policy which we follow. This policy can be viewed by following the link below and also on Wakefield Council’s website: www.wakefield.gov.uk. Admission to the academy is in the September of the academic year. Children are received into the Reception Class once a year. All children will be given an opportunity to spend time in the Reception Class prior to beginning at our academy.
A welcome meeting, for the parents of children starting at our academy, is held during June prior to the year the child is due to enter St James.
Welcome to Reception!
