St James CE Primary Academy caters for children between between the ages of 5 (in the academic year of admission) and 11. The academy does not have a nursery but its catchment area is primarily served by Crigglestone Nursery School. Links are maintained with the Nursery School but attendance at the Nursery does not ensure automatic admittance to St James CE Primary Academy.
Our latest Admissions Policy can be viewed clicking on the 'Policies' tab on our website and also on Wakefield Council’s website: www.wakefield.gov.uk. Admission to the academy is in the September of the academic year. Children are received into the reception class once a year. All children will be given an opportunity to spend time in the reception class prior to beginning at our academy.
A welcome meeting, for the parents of children starting at our academy in September 2018, is being held on Thursday 28th June at 6.00pm. Children will be visiting on the morning of Thursday 5th July 2018. They will be able to stay for lunch and then go home shortly afterwards.
Below is a link to our current Knowledge Handbook 2017/2018. This document will help new starter families understand more about St James prior to arriving. Families will receive a 2018/2019 version in June.
