JOIN OUR WONDERFUL SCHOOL

Starting school—or moving from one school to another—is a big moment for children and their families, and it’s completely natural for it to feel a little daunting. Wakefield Local Authority work hard to make the admissions process as smooth and stress‑free as possible. If any issues do arise, such as not being able to offer your child a place at your preferred school, the School Admissions Team will talk through the options with you and share all the information you need about the appeals process, including when appeals will be organised and heard.

At Crigglestone St James our admission number is 45, which means we can welcome up to 45 children into each year group. From Years 1 to 6, children learn in classes of 30 and therefore each key stage includes one split class. These classes are carefully organised to ensure every child is placed where they can learn, grow, and feel confident.

HOW DO I APPLY FOR A SCHOOL PLACE?

Wakefield Council manage all our admissions from Reception to Year 6, so please contact them to apply for a place at our school. Below is a link to Wakefield Council Admissions.

CAN I VISIT CRIGGLESTONE BEFORE APPLYING?

We strongly encourage parents to arrange a visit to our school prior to application. We will do our best to accommodate parents working pattens and when you do visit, you will be given a tour of the school. Please do feel free to ask any questions you may have.

To arrange a visit, please telephone the office on 01924 251048.
