School Uniform

Please see below the uniform for St James. We want to ensure that the school uniform is affordable to all our families and as such have ensured that it can be purchased from main supermarkets and as well as other retail stores. Wearing uniform with the school badge/logo is not compulsory, although some families do prefer children to wear uniform with the school logo on. If families wish to purhase embroidered school uniform, it can now be purchased online via My Clothing - please click here to visit our section of the My Clothing uniform website. Again, embroiderd uniform is not compulsory.

If uniform is not adhered to then parents will be contacted by a member of the senior leadership team, first verbally and then if required in writing, and an appropriate amount of time will then be given for it to be changed. Please note the uniform list - as checks will be undertaken.

Children will be unable to physcially participate in PE if they have their ears pierced. Children will participate in other ways, which may mean that they have different roles assigned to them in physical PE lessons. Similarly, children will not be able to take part in physical activities at lunchtime, unless earrings are removed. If children wear earrings for religious purposes, please contact school to discuss how we can support you and your child.

PLEASE CHOOSE TO HAVE ANY EAR PIERCINGS AT THE START OF THE SUMMER HOLIDAYS AS THIS WILL GIVE SUFFICIENT TIME FOR EARRINGS TO THEN BE REMOVED AFTER THE PROCEDURE AND BEFORE TERM STARTS. THIS IS SOMETHING WE WILL BE MONITORING CLOSELY. IT IS NOT APPROPRIATE TO USE 'I DIDN'T REALISE AND NOW THE EARRINGS MUST STAY IN' AS AN EXCUSE. ANY CHILD COMING TO SCHOOL WEARING EARRINGS WILL BE ASKED TO REMOVE THEM.

** Hair should be tied back on PE days.

** Children may use two school bags - a book bag and a PE bag.

** Hair bands or clips must be small and discrete. They should not be 'oversized or overtly colourful'
